Remarkable cutting performance complemented by a delicate design! This Japanese knife will allow you to easily cut almost every type of food, thus one of the most polyvalent knives you can have in the kitchen. Also, the word "santoku" means "three virtues" and applies to this knife due to its triad of abilities - chopping, dicing, and mincing. This is a very good general all-purpose knife to use for many jobs. The Santoku knife is designed to provide a comfortable, well-balanced grip.
A namesake which also derives from the method by which it is made, Kasumi is the art of forging high-carbon steel with soft iron. The result is a superior steel blade edge favored by swordmakers for hundreds of years. Known for their excellent kirenaga (duration of sharpness), these are knives that you can treasure.
Each Kasumi knife features thirty-two folded layers of fine stainless steel. The stunning visual effect is immediately discernible on the blade and is beautifully countered by the laminated wooden handle.
