SACHI started with the simple idea that your lunch bag could look fashionable, yet maintain the insulating function. In 2008 when SACHI launched your standard lunch bags available were simple blue, black, or red bags. Mostly rectangular boxes with color.

Then we looked at high-end fashion handbags for inspiration, we understood there had to be a balance between fashion and function and so we approached the new designs in this way. We started by using handbag materials, metal details like handle attachments in matching gold chrome, etc. All the details you might expect from a cute handbag.

Lastly, we picked a name to fit, SACHI. This is a word in Japanese meaning “Happiness”, we felt this was fitting of the feeling you experience when you open your bag and enjoy lunch.
