The story of Messermeister, "messer" meaning knife and "meister" meaning master in German, began when Bernd Dressler migrated to Australia. In the beginning of his career, Dressler worked as a salesperson for a large German knife company and learned the demands of its customers before eventually starting his own brand.
Collaborating with a 3rd generating knife making family in Germany's heart of cutlery manufacture, Solingen, Dressler created a line of vintage knives by style and expertly handmade in tradition and quality.
In 1995, Messermeister was introduced to the Australian market and has continued to grow in popularity over the past two decades.
